Community of Hope at Canterbury
Another exciting opportunity for community engagement is the beginning of a Community of Hope Center here at Canterbury. The Community of Hope's mission is to create and sustain Christian communities of volunteer lay pastoral caregivers in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and beyond, united in prayer, shaped by Benedictine spirituality and equipped for and serving in pastoral care ministries. This fall Canterbury, under the guidance of a Leadership Team that includes Jon Chalmers, Cindy Roff, Laurie Fowler, and Gus Davis, will begin a class to train Canterbury parishioners and students to be lay pastoral caregivers. Gus Davis is the COH Facilitator for our training which starts in September. Please contact him at 205-553-8969 or gdgraphic@yahoo.com for more information.
